A Most Unwelcome Guest

We had visitors from Aklan participating in the event who opted to stay.  Though they witnessed the effects of Ompong ( a few live , some on television and others over the net ) , they hope to return and see Baguio some other time, when the weather is better.
Below are pictures of the effects of Ompong, from the facebook page of Wilner Dat-ay.

Feeling Good about Being Filipino

A Corner for Guests' Convenience

At Sisko's second floor landing, we provided a three-tiered shelf for the immediate needs of our guests. We tried to have the basic necessities travelers usually look for, though the choices are limited. A tin can serves as receptacle for payments and needed change. A list of items, quantity and unit price is posted. Printed on a desk notice are instructions on how to go about buying things needed.

Guess what? We rarely get shortchanged  and more often have extra change during inventory and replenishment of goods. Once, I heard some guests saying it's an Honesty Store!   Somehow it is.  Teeny boppers usually joke- "God is watching us!" , pointing to the CCTV in the area. Of course , I seldom review footage because we don't suffer losses.

Sometimes we get notes saying- 2A, one corned beef, to be paid upon check out. Or, change in can , short of 5 pesos for me. Keep the change. That speaks a lot about our guests being honest,  and generous as well.

Mostly , our guests are local tourists, Filipinos. That makes us happy and proud to be Pinoy too!
