Dominican Hill's Diplomat Hotel

The Diplomat Hotel

Almost the end of October and we welcome Halloween. For those who want to visit eerie, spooky places, there's one in Baguio, the Diplomat Hotel.

Here are some pictures of the hotel which were featured in an article written by Ada Wilkinson .

For more pictures and information about the place, you can visit the link below.

I have a nephew , though , who finds it easy to have fun even in the most spooky places. Here's Mark Joy Santos with his Red Cross friends at the Diplomat Hotel.

Here's more of Joy, who makes me smile , even when he wants to scare.

Have a creepy, horrifying Halloween everyone!

A Special Cemetery in Baguio

The Lost Cemetery

October 31, 2017 has been declared a special holiday by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. This is to give every Filipino a chance to remember his dearly departed and visit the cemetery where his relatives' remains are laid to rest. So people troop to cemeteries and memorial parks on November 1.

For those who are in Baguio before or after November 1 and 2, there's a special cemetery worth visiting, The Cemetery of Negativism.  Called lost but quite easy to find, it is at Camp John Hay.

In the cemetery are tombstones and markers. Just as it is interesting to read epitaphs in ordinary cemeteries where you find beautiful quotes by which the departed are remembered, here you find interesting statements on why certain things are better left buried , lost and forgotten.

A sample marker says:
 UHAFTO OR ELSE :
“Born Of Intimidation, Lived In Resentment, Died Without Fame”

Indeed, the Lost Cemetery is worth a visit for the opportunity it gives for  reflection , introspection and developing positive vibes .

Come and visit!
